Max - Provides a significant amount of posterior and lateral trunk support and control for optimal posture and stability. AGILITY Max is recommended for clients who need postural support and deep, mid-thoracic trunk support. This system features adjustable lateral air pads for better positioning and increased comfort. AGILITY Max Contour is the only deep back that features these independent adjustable lateral air pads.

The ROHO Agility Back Support System is an advanced, configurable wheelchair backrest designed to deliver superior postural alignment, lateral stability, and adjustable support. Engineered for manual wheelchair users, this system replaces traditional, sagging sling upholstery with a high-strength aluminum shell, fully adjustable quick-release hardware, and optional ROHO air-cell technology to create a tailored seating foundation.

Rigid Aluminum Shell Construction

The Agility Back Support System features a lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum shell that forms a stable posterior surface. By eliminating the spinal slouch associated with standard fabric backrests, the rigid shell preserves the spine’s natural lumbar curve. This rigid structure serves as the mounting base for specialized air inserts and lateral trunk supports.

Adjustable Quick-Release Mounting Hardware

Equipped with heavy-duty mounting hardware, the ROHO Agility attaches to 3/4-inch, 7/8-inch, or 1-inch wheelchair back canes. The hardware offers multi-axis adjustments—including independent depth, height, and angle tuning (up to 15° forward or rearward)—allowing clinicians and users to optimize center of gravity, propulsive efficiency, and seat-to-back angles without compromising frame width.

ROHO Air-Cell Cushioning Technology

Select Agility configurations integrate ROHO’s patented dry-floatation air-cell inserts into the lumbar area. Interconnected air cells allow continuous fluid movement, distributing forces evenly across bony prominences and delivering localized pressure relief along the spinal column. The included inflation pump makes fine-tuning internal air volume straightforward to match exact anatomical contours.

Contour Depths and Lateral Trunk Supports

To accommodate varying levels of trunk control, the Agility system is available in multiple contour profile options:

• Minimum Contour (3" depth): Offers basic posterior support and freedom of upper body movement for active users with strong trunk control.

• Mid Contour (4" depth): Delivers moderate lateral stability along the thoracic region without restricting arm movement during self-propulsion.

• Max Contour (6" depth): Provides deep lateral support for users requiring significant lateral stability and pelvic positioning.

Additionally, swing-away or fixed lateral supports can be attached directly to the shell for enhanced dynamic trunk control.

Breathable Cover System and Maintenance

Each Agility backrest includes a custom-fitted, breathable cover designed to promote airflow and regulate skin microclimate. The stretchable cover encases the foam and air inserts, while a durable backing protects against daily wear. The cover is fully removable and machine-washable, with zippered access for fast cushion and hardware adjustments.
