The Everest & Jennings® Lightweight Aluminum Transport Chair by Graham Field provides dependable attendant-assisted mobility in a lightweight, compact design. Featuring a durable aluminum frame, padded nylon upholstery, full-length padded arms, detachable swingaway footrests, rear attendant wheel locks, and a fold-down back, this transport chair is designed for convenient patient transfers, travel, appointments, and everyday assisted mobility. Available in 17-inch and 19-inch seat widths, it weighs only 20 lb without front rigging and supports up to 250 lb evenly distributed. A 42-inch positioning belt and adjustable leg strap are included for added support and convenience.
Graham Field Aluminum Transport Chair Features
The aluminum construction is one of the chair's main advantages. At 20 lb without front rigging, it is substantially easier for a caregiver or companion to lift and place into storage or a vehicle than many heavier steel transport chairs.
Reduces the chair's profile during storage and transportation. The manufacturer specifically describes the compact size and lighter weight as making it easier for a companion to lift and store.
The transport chair uses: 16" seat depth, padded black nylon upholstery, flame-retardant upholstery material, and full-length padded fixed arms.
The Aluminum Transport chair is available in 17" and 19" seat widths.
Tool-free adjustable detachable swingaway footrests. The swingaway design allows the footrests to move out of the way for transfers and simplifies storage.
Rear-mounted attendant wheel locks allow the companion to engage the brakes from the rear of the chair. It should therefore be differentiated from a conventional manual wheelchair with large self-propelling rear wheels.
The chair features removable flip-back desk-length padded arms. The flip-back design is useful when the chair needs to be positioned close to a table, desk, bed, or another transfer surface. The arms can also facilitate lateral transfers when appropriately performed by a caregiver.
Comes standard with a 3" black nylon webbing leg strap with Velcro adjustable loops to slide over installed footrests.

Self propelling
I have used a Drive transport chair for some time and it was always super easy for me to self propel. While I really like my new chair, it's so hard to propel that I find myself using the old one most of the time. Is there a way to make it roll easier? I sure hope so! Help, please! Thank you.

Functional and lightweight
Very good on smooth surfaces but struggles to roll over slightest bumps or smooth stone surfaces. Good for the price but now wish I spent a little more for sturdier roller.
