With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we thought we'd touch on a sensitive topic that needs attention...Sex after paralysis.

Spinal cord injury and paralysis changes the course of ones life right from the onset. The new reality that

most face can be crushing, disheartening and take time to adjust to. Delicate topics many times are also the most difficult to explore, one of which being the topic of sex after injury.

Right after an injury, it is hard to imagine being able to have sex and feel intimate with your partner again. But not only is it possible, the intimacy achieved can be equal to or better than before your injury.

Sex and intimacy are very important factors in life, and help to strengthen connections and emotional bonds.  Sex plays a role in how we identify with ourselves, how we identify with our partners and the overall health of the relationship. Positions, communication and the act itself are what seem to be of the most concern to individuals living with paralysis. With this being said, there are amazing options available to assist you in the bedroom.

The Intimate Rider, one of our best selling sexual health products, has changed the sex lives of thousands of people living with paralysis. This chair is designed to offer a natural gliding motion that will improve sexual mobility. The chair contains no motors nor springs, the movement of the upper torso is enough momentum needed to enhance sexual performance. If you can't move your upper torso, hold onto your partner and move together.

The Intimate Rider increases connection, confidence, and pleasure! If your sex life isn't what it used to be, up your game with the Intimate Rider.

Have you tuned into our "Sex and Relationships" podcast yet? Last year we discussed intimacy after a spinal cord injury. We have a 6 person panel, featuring Angela Rockwood, a quadriplegic model and actress who you might know from the popular reality show, Push Girls.
