ROHO Planar Solid Seat Insert Buyer’s Guide

The ROHO Planar Solid Seat Insert is a specialized wheelchair accessory designed to eliminate the sling effect common in standard wheelchair upholstery. Engineered to provide a firm, flat foundation beneath your cushion, it promotes improved pelvic alignment, posture, and pressure distribution for long-term seated comfort.

Eliminates Sling Effect for Proper Alignment

Standard wheelchair upholstery often stretches over time, creating a hammock-like depression that causes the hips to slide forward and tilt inward. The ROHO Planar Solid Seat Insert provides a rigid, level base that counteracts seat sag, helping users maintain an upright and anatomically correct seating position throughout the day.

ROHO Planar Solid Seat Insert Pressure Relief Support

By establishing a flat and stable seating plane, this insert allows medical cushions—such as ROHO air or gel systems—to perform at their maximum efficiency. Proper cushion leveling helps distribute body weight evenly across the seating surface, reducing high-pressure zones and mitigating the risk of skin breakdown or pressure sores.

Lightweight and Durable Construction

Crafted from high-grade, resilient materials, the solid seat insert offers heavy-duty structural support without adding unnecessary weight to the wheelchair frame. This lightweight build ensures smooth propulsion and easy transport without compromising strength or durability.

ROHO Planar Solid Seat Insert Seamless Cushion Integration

Designed for versatile application, the insert fits discreetly inside standard wheelchair cushion covers or directly under existing seating systems. Its slim profile ensures it elevates the user minimally while maximizing structural firmness and pelvic stability.

Moisture-Resistant and Easy to Sanitize

The insert features a smooth, non-porous surface that resists moisture absorption and prevents fluid retention. Maintenance is quick and hassle-free, allowing caregivers and users to wipe down the insert with standard surface disinfectants for optimal hygiene.

Enhances Postural Control and Balance

A stable foundation improves overall trunk support and balance, making daily transfers, reaching, and propulsion less strenuous. By supporting neutral pelvic positioning, the Planar Seat Insert helps reduce lower back strain and muscular fatigue during extended periods of sitting.

ROHO Planar Solid Seat Insert Multiple Size Options

To ensure an exact fit for various wheelchair models, the ROHO Planar Solid Seat Insert is available in a wide selection of width and depth dimensions. Selecting the appropriate size guarantees seamless edge-to-edge frame coverage for optimal stability.

Easy Installation with No Tools Required

Upgrading a wheelchair seat with the Planar Solid Seat Insert is quick and straightforward. It rests directly onto the wheelchair sling fabric or drops into the cushion cover, requiring no complex mounting hardware or special installation tools.
