It uses a rugged aircraft-grade aluminum frame, weather-resistant open-weave polyester seat, removable carrying arms/side handles, safety restraints, and two sets of wheels: standard 10-inch worry-free tires and 30 cm Beach/Snow tires.
The Model 1600 is more than a conventional beach wheelchair. Its design combines outdoor all-terrain transportation with emergency evacuation capability, allowing attendants to move a passenger across challenging surfaces and up or down stairs. Crosswind Concepts states that the chair can provide up to six lifting points, allowing multiple people to share the lifting load. The carrying arms and side handles are removable, making the chair easier to transport and store.
