Rest in Peace Auti Angel: 1969-2022

Wheelchair dancer and American entertainer, Auti Angel, who was best known for her role in the reality television show Push Girls, has died of breast cancer on March 23, 2022 at the age of 52 after first announcing her diagnosis in an October 2021 social media video. Auti was born in San Diego and raised in Torrance, California and at an early age of 18 launched her professional dancing, choreography, and music career.

Auti was involved in a car accident in 1992, which left her paralyzed from the waist down, however, she continued her career with a smile, always shining light on difficult situations and leaving everyone that surrounded her with positivity. Unfortunately, her cancer began to rapidly progress and on January 24, 2022, Auti shared another video update which explained that her cancer was terminal and had spread throughout her body to her brain, lungs, lymph nodes, and other areas.

Auti Angel (Left) and Mia Schaikewitz star in reality television show, Push Girls, which explores the lives of four women living with paralysis.

Living Spinal became very good friends with co-star, Mia Schaikewitz, who you will see in many of our product videos such as the FreewheelFirefly, and Batec, just to name a few.

Of course, being in a wheelchair presents different challenges which very from person to person, but the Push Girls women have dedicated to live their lives fully as another co-star, Angela, vows "If I can't stand up, well, hell, I'm going to stand out."

...And that is just what Auti and the Push Girls did.

Auti's spirit will continue to live on and she will always be a positive light in our thoughts and in our hearts. Our condolences go out to the Push Girls, family, friends, and anyone who crossed paths with this kind soul. She has impacted many lives and has proven that there are no limits to being in a wheelchair.
