Meet the Amazing People Behind Living Spinal!

Andrew (Owner/Founder)

At the helm of Living Spinal, Andrew has proven just how one man can create a successful company based off of a desire to help people with spinal cord injuries.  Andrew grew up in the Midwest and attended the University of Milwaukee, where he earned a bachelor's in Business Marketing and a minor in Entrepreneurship.

Shortly after a diving accident that put him in a wheelchair, Andrew wanted to find a way to help fund research for the cure to paralysis. Out of this desire grew Living Spinal.

Andrew is a boating enthusiast, and loves to sit water ski. He is also passionate about wheelchair tennis and plays regularly. When he isn't in the office, he is out on the courts or on the water. As the leader of Living Spinal, he is truly dedicated to helping people with mobility and medical supply needs, while creating a way to donate to the cure for paralysis.

Kalli (Owner)

As owner of Living Spinal, Kalli is a critical part of the team. Kalli is an exceptional big picture professional and is one of the main driving forces in Living Spinal's success. Kalli went to school in Wisconsin at the University of Milwaukee.

In her free time, she can be found hitting the pavement training for her next marathon, practicing yoga or out on the water. If she is not out exercising Kalli can be found curled up in her favorite chair searching for new healthy recipe or engulfed in a great book.

Kalli helped start this business because her husband, Andrew Hippert - founder of Living Spinal, went through a tragic spinal cord injury in 2009 and she wanted to help give back. Being at Andrew's side has given her an incredible insight in the world of paralysis.

Sam (General Manager)

Sam is a passionate business professional with a science background that took over general operations of Living Spinal in early 2020. He earned a dual bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology at UW-Eau Claire, then went on to get his Masters in Business Administration at Concordia University before Andrew found him. With deep convictions to altruism, Sam is a Red Cross volunteer and runs a small side company that provides free housing to people affected by disasters.

In his personal life, Sam is an author of several novels and a professional arm-wrestler, and he occupies a horse farm with his fiance. He likes to fix up and ride old motorcycles and meet interesting new people. He has an energetic drive to continually build Living Spinal into a welcoming community of people, and make products for wheelchair users more affordable and relevant.
